Q: Dog illness….?
About 4-5 days ago I fed both of my dogs some leftovers and each got really bad diarrhea. One dog seems to be recovering well while the other seems to be getting worse……he vomits, his fisces appears to have blood in it, and he will not eat. As I walked around my apartment complex I noticed there were other dog droppings (diarrhea) all over the place. Could this be a virus spread from another dog?
A: Take the dog to the vet. Blood in feces is not a good sign for any living thing. And do not feed your dogs leftovers again. If you want to give them a special treat, boil some boneless, skinless chicken breast and serve it with rice and green beans. And remember, no salt or other seasonings!!!
Q: Dog Illness?
I’ve been noticing that my dog has little black crusty spots on the inside of her ear. It’s not ear wax, but I don’t know what it is. Do you?
A: Its ear mites, and the only effective treatment is from the vet. Its a common problem and the ear drops are not expensive.
Please don’t mess around with home remedies or stuff from the pet shop! They’re a waste of time and money, the longer you leave this the worse it gets.
Q: dog illness?
please help me…my dog has greenish/black diearra, kinda sunkin in eyes, doesnt eat, drinks alot and isnt playful…does anyone know whats wrong?
A: Get your puppy in to the vet. He sounds sick. Phone your vet ahead of time because he might like you to collect some stool samples first. But this is not something to waste time in here about. Do it asap. Your puppy is deyhdrated and there is more that needs immediate attention.

I have been reading a lot about dog illnesses for a project. The above is one of the survey questions. Please take a moment to contribute. Thank you.
A: I am guessing parvo. And it could all be avoided if people would just vaccinate their dogs.
Q: What illness is dog parvo or distemper and how is it treated?
People say parve is fatal to dogs how can I prevent my dog from catching it. What type of illness is it, what symptoms should I look out for.
A: You’ve never heard of VIRUSES?
Or the marvelous 200 yo invention,VACCINATIONS,that prevent them?
What cave have you been hiding in?
PREVENT,not “treat!
Parvo kills 50% w/treatment. Distemper is almost as bad.
VACCINATE
Q: What are some symptoms of dog illness?
My 16 year old dog springer/ lab has not been drinking alot of water yet is having excessive drooling and his eyes are watering. This is a dog who will eat everything he gets his paws on but he has been acting really strange and being picky with his food.He is just acting weird confused etc etc won’t go outside and potty he just pottys wherevere hes at and he hasnt been pottying very much. Any suggestions on what this could beor what is going on??
A: At the ripe old age of 16, these symptoms could be caused by a multitide of problems. Failure of any major organs–kidneys, liver, heart, etc. Cancer. Diabetes. Many, many possibilities, though they probably all lead back to one thing: he’s just old and these are the things really old dogs do. Just don’t let him suffer.
Q: My dog has an illness or is depressed from his brothers death?
My dog had a twin brother who recently passed away from an illness, he has become skinny, his back is no longer straight but hunched, doesnt want to eat and not respond. We looked around the area and we found to what we believe was blood near him. We dont know what is going on. please help. We figure he’s sick but depressed over his brother’s death…please…help.
A: PLEASE take him to the vet. He could die. Dogs do get upset after a death of a close one, but they don’t get sick. The fact that you say y’all found blood means that he could have something seriously wrong. I am BEGGING you, take him to the vet.
Q: dog illness: What are the most dog illnesses?
I’ve read from ( http://www.aboutdoghealth.org/doghealthproblems/common-dog-illness.html ) that ring worm is the most common sickness, but I am not sure. Is this true?
A: yes- ringworm is extremely common in household pets like dogs and cats. It also very treatable, thankfully. Another very common one is Kennel Cough. Also treatable.
Q: What illness does my dog have?
My dog has really strange symptoms- her eyes are puffy with green discharge, she isn’t very active, won’t eat, loose stoole, and a little cough/hacking.
I have a couple other dogs who had the same thing. I took them to the vet and he said they were fine- it was probably a flu-like illness. Is he right? Did he miss something? Could it be something else? It seems to last 24 hrs and then the dog is fine. I have three dogs that had this for 24 hrs. and then get better. Any suggestions? All dogs are current on shots. Thanks!
A: if it seems to last only 24 hrs then i would just isolate the sick one so the circle of germs gets broken
Q: Can someone help me identify what possible illness my dog has?
My dog is a German Shepherd and he is 9 years old. He shows a sad expression and seems really tired. This happened all of a sudden this morning and has been like this all day. He does not want to eat, drink, and play with my other dog like he usually does. At times, he would randomly drool.
And he has watery eyes.
A: This really could be anything from a toxin to a serious illness. The best thing you can do is take the dog to the vet ASAP to have them run all the proper tests to make sure that ther isn’t anything serious going on. Poor dog it sounds like his tummy is very upset:( I hope he feels better soon. Good luck
Q: Is there an actual illness which makes a small dog’s feces smell like a skunks spray?
This is a very strong smell, smell’s exactly like a skunk’s spray, and the smell will linger forever. My dog has never had this before, and she has not changed her food lately. Also, she has her anal sacks emptied regularly, so i don’ty think that’s it.
Is there an actual illness associated with this?
You have to be sick yourself, to suggest that someone go to the vet because their dog’s s-h-i-t stinks. Sheesh.
A: Not sure, but the best bet is to go to your Vet.
Q: What illness did my dog die from if she was panting reallly hard after relaxing for hours?
My dog was panting really hard for about 10 minutes and I was worried and I told everyone so we tried helping her. After she was breathing hard she stopped breathing;within a minute she died[[just like that]]. what disease did she die from? or was it old age?
A: old age
cancer
heartattack
kidney failure
etc.
etc.
should have had NECROPSY if you were concerned of the reason
blessings
Q: What type of illness has my dog caught?
My dog has recently come down with something. She is 8 years old Her symptoms are diahera, muscle spasms, trouble getting up, and a stuffy nose. there are two other dogs in the area, one is a puppy, the other is an older dog. My mother also occasionally gives her a baby asprin to help her with her arthritis. any suggestions?
A: okay first, your mother should not be giving aspirin to a dog, it may be unhealthy or even lethal to the dogs, as they have different digestive systems as us as well as smaller bodies. Therefore, the aspirin may be in a dangerous dose to the dog.
For your dog, it sounds like a contagious sickness. It may also be from old age. Are these symtoms frequent or occasional? if it’s occasional, then this may be from age. Dogs have trouble digesting and processing food as they get older because their systems are breaking down. As for the muscle spasms, that sounds more serious. My suggestion is to look at your dog for a week and observe her symptoms, and write down if they get worse and any new symptoms she may get. If she gets lethargic, doens’t eat/urinate/poo then she is sick and you would need to get her to a vet ASAP.
Good luck, and god bless
Q: What illness could cause a dog to get intense diarrhoea and stop eating?
…Please erase the “TAKE IT TO TEH VET!!!!!” answer from your mind, this dog is no longer around.
The dog was about five years old, had all its shots.
A: Depending on the age, it could of been parvo, salmonella, parasites, sensitive stomach, food allergy, etc.
Q: What certain illness does my dog have? I’m really really worried about him. :’(?
My dog becomes very weak, he experiences loss of appetite, and moreover, he excretes blood from his anus. what is this & why? what can be the best cure for him?
A: It could be many things, but if you were weak, had a loss of appetite, and was excreting blood from your anus, wouldn’t you hurry to your doctor’s office?
Take your dog to see a vet, immediately!
